About Me

Hello, My name is Jocelyn Milanes IBCLC, RLC.

I am "The Breastfeeding Lady"

I am mom to two beautiful babes, whom I breastfed for a total of 8 years.

I work with mothers and their families in home, birth centers, clinical, hospital bedside and virtually to provide planning, support and education to help mothers reach their personal breastfeeding/ pumping goals.

My work began when I became a mother 18 years ago and started my personal breastfeeding journey. I knew I wanted to breastfeed my daughter more than anything, I just didn't know what to do and where to start. I had no idea and no support. I encountered many challenges along the way still, in my heart, I knew this was my path.

Luckily, I was blessed to find mother to mother peer support at The Miami-Dade County Health Department, WIC breastfeeding program. It was there where I developed a passion for supporting and empowering mothers and fathers at every step of their parenting and breastfeeding adventures!

I became a Peer Counselor (PC) in 2003, a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) in 2005 and worked with The Miami Dade County Health Department WIC breastfeeding program for 8 years where I supported and educated over 10,000 clients in a multicultural and diverse setting.  I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2010 and I began my work with North Shore Medical Center's journey toward Baby Friendly Hospital Designation and Breastfeeding Friendly Work place. I currently provide my services to SpectraBabyUSA and Shalom Baby at Temple Beth Shalom in Miami Beach Florida.

I hope to be able to serve you and your family on your breastfeeding journey and beyond.

“In March of 2020, I gave birth to twins. Before their arrival I prepared myself to breastfeed watching YouTube videos, etc... however it was hard to remember everything I learned without hands on training. It was a huge challenge to breastfeed not one but two babies at a time. The nurses in the hospital called in the lactation specialist “Jocelyne” and because of her, I managed to breastfeed my babies and still breastfeeding them today and they are going to be 4 months old.  Jocelyne does not give up  until the baby latches and you feel comfortable doing it. While at the hospital she visited me everyday during my hospitalization to ensure everything was going smoothly. She provided me with resources and techniques that would help the milk flow in the coming days. I thank her from the bottom of my heart for all she did for me, even in these challenging times."
